AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITY PROGRAM

PRE-K TO 12 YEARS

Give your child an opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive in an engaging and supportive environment by enrolling in our After School Activity Program – where safety, learning, and fun come together! At the Y, we are committed to building a sense of safety and belonging for all by offering a secure program area with academic support, enrichment activities, daily movement and play, and opportunities to develop communication and leadership skills.

OUR MODEL

All of our ASAP Classrooms provide a range of activities including:

  • Structured enrichment, including STEM and art activities
  • Indoor and outdoor movement and play
  • Dedicated homework and academic support
  • Healthy snacks, made possible by CACFP
  • Weekly opportunities to swim in the Y’s Herb Sargent Family Therapeutic Pool

OUR PROGRAM HOURS

Our After School Activity Program runs from the end of the school day until 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Families who need childcare 5:30 PM – 6:00 PM may register for Extended Care.

IN-SERVICES & NO SCHOOL DAYS

For those enrolled in our After School Activity Program, we offer full-day care (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM) on in-service days as well as snow day care, if staffing is available. Half day and early release day care may also be available, depending on staffing. ASAP families will be notified of our ability to provide snow day, in-service, half day, and early release care via email and/or text message. 

SCHOOL VACATIONS

Families enrolled in the After School Activity Program can also take advantage of our School Vacation care! School Vacations will have separate sign ups and fees associated with these weeks.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

At the Y, we are committed to reducing financial barriers for families so that everyone has access to opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive. Thanks to the generous support of our Annual Campaign donors and the Old Town – Orono YMCA Foundation, we are proud to provide income-based Financial Assistance for Membership, Child Care, and Program fees to ensure everyone in our community can access our Y.

In addition to our Financial Assistance program, we are also proud to offer discounts for many of our hometown heroes and their families, including First Responders, Healthcare Workers, Teachers, Active Duty Service Members, and Veterans.

Summer Adventure Program

School Age (Ages 5-12)

Our Summer Adventure Program is all about discovery! Youth will explore nature, find new talents, and try new activities while making lasting friendships and memories. Each classroom has a designated swim day to help develop and maintain swimming skills. Campers will have the opportunity to engage in sports, group games, and relays daily, with designated time for gymnastics in the Cyr Family Field House. Throughout the summer, campers will take weekly field trips to exciting destinations. Fun and unforgettable memories await!

Healthy Snack Boost!

More Youth Activities!

Youth enrolled in our child care programs have the opportunity to join other exciting youth activities at the Y, including additional swim lessons, gymnastics, and sports. If scheduled during program hours, our dedicated staff will ensure your child safely gets to and from their program. Please note, there is an additional fee for these programs.
