18 MONTHS – 10 YEARS

Child Watch is our While-You’re-Here babysitting program designed to help all families enjoy the Y in ways that work for them. At Child Watch, kids have fun in the care of trusted Old Town – Orono YMCA staff while their parents are inside the facility taking advantage of everything our Y has to offer, including group exercise classes, lap swim, pickleball, and so much more.

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
HOURS: Monday/Wednesday/Friday, 11 AM – 1 PM, and Saturday, 8 AM – 1 PM.

VISIT TIME: At this time, Child Watch visits are limited to two hours per day to help ensure as many families can take advantage of this service as possible.

FEES: FREE for Family Members, $10/visit for Individual Members and Guests

BATHROOM PROCEDURES: Staff are not permitted to change diapers or enter the bathroom while it is occupied by a child. If a child is in need of a diaper change or requires assistance while using the bathroom, parents will be called.

BEHAVIOR: Our staff will do their best to keep children happy and comfortable while they attend Child Watch. If a child is upset or crying and our staff are unable to calm them down within 15 minutes, parents will be called or located.

ILLNESS: For the wellbeing of all, children may not attend Child Watch if signs of illness are present (ie. cough, fever, runny nose, etc.)

FOOD & DRINK: Parents may provide snacks, as needed, and must provide their own water bottles. Parents should clearly label their cups and bottles.

REGISTRATION & SIGN-IN: Pre-registration is required and can be completed online, over the phone, or in person. When you arrive for Child Watch, please check in at the Front Desk before accompanying your child to the Child Watch room, where you’ll complete the sign in process with our Child Watch staff.

Jump into the Cyr Family Fieldhouse and enjoy a morning of parent-supervised movement, discovery, and play on a variety of age-appropriate obstacles and gymnastics equipment.

ADVENTURE ZONE

TUESDAYS • 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM // WEDNESDAYS • 9:00 AM – 9:45 AM
Bounce into the Adventure Center and get the wiggles out with parent-supervised exploration and movement on our climbing, bouncing, swinging, and sliding structures.

SPLASH + PLAY

TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS • 9:00 AM – 9:45 AM
Come join us for a morning of songs, games, and fun in the pool! Strengthen your family bonds, build relationships with new friends, and get acclimated to the water with 20 minutes of activities led by our YMCA Swim Lesson Instructors followed by 25 minutes of open play!
