PRESCHOOL TO HIGH SCHOOL
At the Old Town – Orono YMCA, we’re dedicated to building champions in sport and in life at every age and every stage. From our preschool-aged rec sports classes to our highest level competitive teams, our dedicated Coaching Staffs focus on building exceptional fundamental skills and providing safe, supportive environments where every athlete has opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
At the Y, we are committed to reducing financial barriers for families so that everyone has access to opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive. Thanks to the generous support of our Annual Campaign donors and the Old Town – Orono YMCA Foundation, we are proud to provide income-based Financial Assistance for Membership, Child Care, and Program fees to ensure everyone in our community can access our Y.
In addition to our Financial Assistance program, we are also proud to offer discounts for many of our hometown heroes and their families, including First Responders, Healthcare Workers, Teachers, Active Duty Service Members, and Veterans.

COMPETITIVE TEAMS

CANOE CITY SWIM CLUB
The Canoe City Swim Club is our year-round competitive swim team. Our program emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal development while working with athletes to improve stroke mechanics, endurance, race strategy, and confidence in and out of the pool. From young swimmers curious about the sport to high school-aged athletes looking to compete in college and beyond, we are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment where all children reach their full potential in the water and in our community.
Our team offers eight unique training groups, allowing our experienced and dedicated Coaching Staff to foster positive relationships among peers while creating developmentally appropriate practices tailored to the individual goals of our athletes at all levels, and provides opportunities to participate in YMCA and USA Swimming meets across Maine and New England throughout the year.

EASTERN MAINE BASKETBALL LEAGUE
Our Travel Basketball program, a proud member of the Eastern Maine Basketball League (EMBBL), is focused on building leaders one play at a time. Our Coaching Staff are committed to developing strong fundamental basketball skills and providing a safe environment that fosters every players’ communication, leadership, and collaboration skills while promoting the values of respect, positivity, sportsmanship, discipline, and perseverence.

MAINE FURY BASKETBALL
Maine Fury, the Old Town – Orono’s AAU Basketball program, is dedicated to providing a safe environment that fostering players’ skill development, teamwork, and leadership while promoting the values of sportsmanship, discipline, and hard work. Our passionate and dedicated Coaching Staff is committed to building fierce competitors and respectful teammates with the skills needed to persevere in athletics and in life.

OLD TOWN FOOTBALL
Old Town Football is the Old Town – Orono YMCA’s contact football team, open to 3rd to 6th Grade athletes from any town in our service area! Our team competes in the Northern Maine Football League with three practices each week at Old Town High School’s practice football field.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, 5 PM – 7 PM
GAMES: Sundays – 3/4 Team kickoff at 12 PM, 5/6 Team kickoff at 2 PM

OTO CHEER
As the Old Town – Orono YMCA’s premier football and competition cheer program, OTO Cheer offers young athletes the chance to get active and have fun while learning the fundamentals of cheerleading, building their confidence on and off the mat, and developing critical leadership and communication skills. Our dedicated coaches are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for cheerleaders of all ages and skill levels to build strong and trusting relationships with their teammates, develop new skills, and soar to new heights.

OTO GYMNASTICS
OTO Gymnastics is the Old Town – Orono YMCA’s year-round competitive girls gymnastics team, offering USAG Levels 3-10 and EXCEL competitive opportunities. Our program emphasizes athlete safety and development with a focus on quality competitive training, commitment, team-building, and fun. We believe in meeting each athlete where they’re at and supporting them in the continued pursuit of their goals.

Our AAU Baseball program, formerly known as Maine Fury Baseball, is thrilled to begin a new chapter with Swing City Connecxion! This exciting new partnership will allow us to grow our programming and services while continuing to provide a safe environment that fosters players’ skill development, teamwork, and leadership while promoting the values of sportsmanship, discipline, and hard work.
